6 Books/Series you have to read

1. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series


The Percy Jackson series is an amazing series written by the award winning author Rick Riordan. It is based on Greek mythology with the gods like Zeus, Poseidon, Athena and Hermes. The series is about a boy named Percy Jackson who is a child of the big three. He has to find his way to Camp Half-Blood, the only place safe for demigods. Demigods are the children of the Greek gods and a human. They are half god, half human and there are monsters that they have to fend off. Percy goes on many quests with his friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. I highly recommend this series to people who like fantasy stories with Greek mythology. There are 5 books in this series, The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titans Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth and the Last Olympian.

2. The Heroes of Olympus Series


The Heroes of Olympus series is a sequel to the Percy Jackson series. It is written by Rick Riordan and has 5 books in the series. It still has Percy Jackson and Annabeth in it but now they have 5 new friends. The new characters are Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel and Frank. Jason is from another camp called Camp Jupiter who lost his memory. Piper and Leo are from a boarding school with their teacher, Coach Hedge. Hazel and Frank are also from Camp Jupiter. The Heroes of Olympus series is about the 7 demigods trying to stop the Earth mother, Gaia. I also recommend this series to people who like fantasy books with Greek and Roman mythology. There are 5 books in the series, The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune, The Mark of Athena, The House of Hades and the Blood of Olympus.

3. Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a series of books is written by Jeff Kinney and is based on a boy named Greg Heffley. Greg starts off in middle school and always thinks that one day he will be rich and famous. He started his diary so that when he was famous, he wouldn't have to explain his childhood to his fans. This series is full of wit and humour and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good laugh. There are 9 books in the series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Rodrick Rules, The Last Straw, Dog Days, The Ugly Truth, Cabin Fever, The Third Wheel, Hard Luck and the Long Haul. There will be more books in the future, so I can't wait for them!

4. Harry Potter Series

The Harry Potter series is written by the award winning author J.K. Rowling. The series is about a boy named Harry Potter and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They go to a school called Hogwarts, school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They go up against a bunch of enemies, including the death eaters and Lord Voldemort. When Harry was a baby, Lord Voldemort murdered Harry's parents, James and Lily Potter. Harry grew up with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and their son, Dudley. They made him live under the stairs and didn't tell him about his parents or that he was a wizard. Overall, the Harry Potter books are amazing. There are 7 books in the series, The Philosophers Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows.

5. Hunger Games Series

The Hunger Games series is written by Suzanne Collins. It is about a girl called Katniss Everdeen and her friends Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne. She lives in District 12 which is in Panem. The capital of Panem is the Capitol. Every year there is the reaping which is choosing who goes into the Hunger Games. She is first chosen in the 74th annual Hunger Games and wins alongside her friend, Peeta Mellark. Next year, she is chosen again, because it is the quarter quell. Only 3 people have won in District 12, so she is chosen again. Overall the Hunger Games books are pretty cool. There are 3 books in the series, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay.

6. Holes

Holes was written by Louis Sachar. Holes is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats and his friend Hector Zeroni. They are sent to Camp Green Lake as punishment for anything they did bad. For example, Stanley was accused of stealing shoes and same with Hector. They are sent to Camp Green Lake to find Kate Barlow's treasure. Holes is a pretty good book and recommend it to everyone.
